Castello della Sala, owned by the Antinori family, represented a significant milestone in LASI’s approach to design applied to the wine industry.
It’s one of our first projects in Italy where, alongside technical and production requirements, a strong focus on aesthetics was introduced to enhance the winery visitor experience.
A design-focused winemaking plant
Located in Ficulle, near Orvieto, the estate is dedicated to the production of premium white wines, including the renowned Muffato della Sala. The project involved the design, manufacturing and installation of over 70 insulated and temperature-controlled stainless steel wine tanks in different configurations and capacities, together with an integrated steel and wood walkway designed to hosting the electrical and hydraulic process systems. This project marked the beginning of a design-oriented approach to winery engineering, combining advanced winemaking technology, functional efficiency and architectural integration.
