Elena Walch is a renowned family-owned winery in South Tyrol, a benchmark for Italian wine production and one of the pioneering estates in the international enhancement of quality-driven winemaking. Founded by Elena Walch, a former architect, the winery has contributed to the transformation of the region through a strong focus on sustainability, research and the highest expression of terroir.
The estate extends over approximately 60 hectares of vineyards located in challenging conditions, with slopes reaching up to 63° and altitudes exceeding 900 meters, characteristics that give the wines a distinctive aromatic profile and a strong territorial identity.
The winery’s storage and fermentation system
The project developed by LASI in collaboration with NOFORMSTUDIO includes a complete stainless steel wine storage system composed of 27 cylindrical tanks between 100 and 150 hl, divided into standard and double-cell configurations, together with a 40 m² linear stainless steel walkway serving the storage area and equipped with two elevated access stairways. The fermentation area was designed to ensure precise temperature control and maximum efficiency throughout the winemaking process, including 18 temperature-controlled 40 hl conical tanks for fermentation and storage, a patented “LEONARDO®” punch-down system with dedicated loading cuvon. A shaped circular stainless steel walkway of 60 m² serving the 18 conical tanks, also equipped with two elevated access stairways.
